New classrooms at Misenga Primary School

The long awaited completion of four new classrooms at Misenga, with roofs, secure doors and windows, was finally realised in September 2021 thanks to the generosity of MAC supporters.  As a result, the number of pupils at the school has significantly increased.

Covid 19

Providing a safe learning environment in schools during the Covid pandemic has been a challenge for school leaders and educators.  We are delighted to say that friends and colleagues in Taiwan, working with a member of the MAC team, have provided 10,000 masks for pupils and staff at three schools in the Kitwe area - Misenga Primary School, Trust Community School and Kapoto Primary School.  Our warm thanks go to all those who have played a part in this effort, in Taiwan, Manchester and Kitwe.

Trust School Food Programme

MAC is now financing a Food Programme at Trust Community School, providing vital nutrition for the 216 pupils who would otherwise go hungry.  Young children cannot concentrate on lessons if their stomach is empty and their energy levels low.  We are pleased that through the generosity of our donors we can help to create an environment where learning thrives and increasing numbers of children can look forward to a better future.

Trust School Site Secured

In February 2016 after eighteen months of setbacks, Trust School received confirmation that the local authority had finally allocated a building plot that will enable them to construct their own premises.

The purchase of the land was made possible by donations from MAC supporters.

Amy and Ollie's Lemonade Sale

Homemade lemonade anyone?
On a sunny afternoon in July, 12 year old Amy Sweeney and her brother Ollie, 9, set up a stall outside their house, supported by Ollie’s friend Joseph. On sale was delicious homemade lemonade, together with biscuits and pick-and-mix, perfect for a warm summer’s day. And so it proved, for in no time at all the lemonade was gone, the table was bare, and in the collection box was the magnificent sum of £72, an even greater success than their first fundraising sale the previous year…
